Alexann is a small hobby kennel breeding on a very limited basis. We endeavour to breed to the standard while maintaining the beauty and elegance that is the "Samoyed" this is the only dogs we are involved in breeding. Our puppies are raised in our kitchen and socialization becomes a natural event from day one!

We have been involved with this wonderful breed since the late 70's, as time progressed, we as a family, travelled to dog shows and showed in conformation as well as obedience trials. Along the way our daughter became an excellent Jr Handler. We have been members of the American Samoyed Association since 1980. After 2 years as the president of our local all breed club my interests in training dogs led me to become Training Director for several years. Cyril has donated his time working as a show secretary and as a ring steward over the years.

Since retiring all our spare time is devoted to our sammies by doing fun agility and keeping our resident sams busy on our acreage. We welcome phone calls and e-mails with your questions about Samoyeds.

Alexann Kennels have had the privilege of showing and breeding Multi Best in Show, Best Puppy in Show and Best Specialty winners as well as a multitude of Show Champions and Obedience Champions, most of which are family pets first and foremost enjoying a good life of leisure.

Although we breed dogs only after they receive their championship we do not require that a puppy be shown. This activity is not for everyone as it can be time consuming and expensive. Should conformation shows be of interest I will be only too willing to assist in such an undertaking, in general it is much easier to show an extroverted puppy. Quality is just as important in a family pet as a show puppy, except there isn't as much stress placed on a family pet. We attempt to give each and every puppy the best possible start in life. Most sammies live a long trouble free life, we do our part by certifying eyes and hips prior to breeding and also check family pets whenever possible.
